Numerical reasoning does not actually have a specific meaning. It is used generally to assess a person’s ability to make quick and accurate calculations, interprete data, and make estimations. The types of questions used include arithmetic, decimals, fractions, percentages and ratios to name a few.
These tests are provided to help your children in preparing for the 11plus selection process. They are suitable for nine to twelve year old children. The children may require some level of support from you with their learning.
Verbal Reasoning
Verbal reasoning is not only aimed at fluency or vocabulary, it also evaluates the ability to understand and reason with words, letters and numbers. These tests are used to assess your child’s ability to think, analyse and solve problems.
Speed and accuracy are essential elements for success. The key to success is therefore a lot of practice to familiarise your child, having a plan and good time management skills will increase your child’s chances of success.
Most of us will remember our parents telling us that ‘a stitch in time saves nine’. This saying also applies to passing tests. It is therefore prudent to start preparing your children for success in this major test . This series provides them with many opportunities to practice.
